[Tweet](https://twitter.com/share) ***COLA Inc. is engaged with the CDC’s Laboratory Outreach Communication System (LOCS) in the Division of Laboratory Systems (DLS) to transmit their public health messages to our laboratories and affiliates. *** On July 29, 2022 CDC[alerted laboratories](https://www.cdc.gov/csels/dls/locs/2022/07-29-2022-Lab-Advisory-NIST_Develops_Genetic_Material_Validating_Monkeypox_Tests.html) that the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) announced that it has produced positive control material that can help ensure the accuracy of monkeypox virus tests, to validate laboratory-developed tests, or to determine test sensitivity. NIST is making this material freely available to test manufacturers and testing laboratories.
