COLA Inc. is engaged with the CDC’s Laboratory Outreach Communication System (LOCS) in the Division of Laboratory Systems (DLS) to transmit their public health messages to our laboratories and affiliates.

On July 29, 2022 CDC alerted laboratories that the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) announced that it has produced positive control material that can help ensure the accuracy of monkeypox virus tests, to validate laboratory-developed tests, or to determine test sensitivity. NIST is making this material freely available to test manufacturers and testing laboratories. This effort supports the rapid expansion of monkeypox testing in the United States.
