CDC Updates COVID-19 Biosafety Guidelines and Publishes New Webpage on Biological Risk Management for POCT

On June 15, 2021, CDC updated the Interim Laboratory Biosafety Guidelines for Handling and Processing Specimens Associated with Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19). You are encouraged to review the updated guidelines and note the new additions.

On June 25, 2021, CDC published a new webpage addressing biological risk management for point-of-case testing. This new page introduces basic risk management concepts, outlines the five steps of the risk management process, and offers helpful resources for additional information, including a job hazard analysis tool, which you can adapt to your unique context.
