COLA Inc. is engaged with the CDC’s Laboratory Outreach Communication System (LOCS) in the Division of Laboratory Systems (DLS) to transmit their public health messages to our laboratories and affiliates. 

On May 20, 2022, the CDC alerted laboratories that it has confirmed a case of the monkeypox virus in the United States. Laboratories with specimens that are suspected to contain monkeypox virus should contact the CDC Emergency Operations Center at 770-488-7100.

On May 31, 2022, the CDC provided guidelines to laboratories when collecting specimens for monkeypox virus.
