On July 1, 2021, the State of Virginia implemented key sections of its new law (HB 2312 /SB 1406 which were identical bills) to legalize adult use of cannabis. The newly created Cannabis Control Authority will develop the framework for regulating and licensing cannabis businesses, including testing laboratories.  Retails sales would begin no earlier than January 1, 2024.  The law requires cannabis laboratories to obtain ISO 17025 accreditation to become licensed.  If you need more information about ISO accreditation for your laboratory, contact us toll-free at 800-981-9883.  Read more here.
