SARS-CoV-2 Variant Classification Updates

COLA Inc. is engaged with the CDC’s Laboratory Outreach Communication System (LOCS) in the Division of Laboratory Systems (DLS) to transmit their public health messages to our laboratories and affiliates.

On August 17, 2021, the CDC removed SARS-CoV-2 variants B.1.427 and B.1.429 from the variants of interest list stating that these “variants are declining in prevalence, vaccines are effective against these variants and effective therapeutics are available.” To read the full public health message, click on the link below.
