Governor Greg Gianforte signs new law designed to implement and amend the voter-approved ballot initiative to legalize adult use of cannabis

On May 18, 2021, Governor Greg Gianforte signed a new law (HB 701) designed to implement and amend the voter-approved ballot initiative (Initiative 190)  which legalized adult use of cannabis.  The Department of Revenue will have the responsibility of overseeing the regulation of adult and medical use of cannabis.  COLA is monitoring the development of any new rules, which will govern the licensure of cannabis testing laboratories.  Read more here.
